Doug served churches in Ontario and Quebec and comes to us after completing his Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton NJ. Doug holds a M.A. in Art & Theology from McGill University, a Diploma in Ministry from United Theological College/Le Seminaire Uni, Montreal, and a BA (hons) in Art History from Queen’s University. Doug also has training in inner-city ministry and social justice.
Doug values the inclusive, social justice, environmentalist, and academic perspective of The United Church of Canada. He upholds the importance of rich, grounded, and varied worship. Outside of his church life, Doug is an equestrian and a painter, and has a deep passion for Canadian art and architecture.

Alexandra Cook – Sunday School Teacher
Alexandra is currently enrolled at SFU for a second year in the Social Sciences faculty. She has a lifelong affiliation with the United Church and is very much looking forward to her involvement with the congregation and children at Ellesmere. She hopes to contribute to the community here.
Elizabeth Bae – Secretary
Elizabeth is an Arts and Culture major in the Faculty of Communications, Art, and Technology. She is happy working for the congregation.
